The end of Amos Fortune, Free Man


After moving Amos build a small house luckily he finished before winter came and it started to snow. The house was beautiful it was small but it was just like the rest of the houses. New customers came to Amos and traded animal skin. Charlie Toothaker is a white kid his father died he was a very good friend of Amos. Amos in return to the doctor who attended Lilly and Lydia’s last illness he would adopt Charlie. Charlie’s dad left a note behind saying that he wanted Amos to adopt Charlie, and he also said he had permission to be part of the Fortune family. The deacon told Amos he had a beautiful farm and that he put his heart into it as well as muscle. Amos very proud of the words the deacon said about his farm. The deacon asked Amos have any wished of your own that you would trust me to carry out. Amos told him that he would like a handsome gravestone for himself and one for Violet when there time comes. The deacon told Amos that shall be done. Amos was going to give the money he earned to the town so people could educate their sons and daughters.  Amos died in November 17, 1801 and Violet died on September 13, 1802 they had the gravestones that Amos  told the deacon he wanted.
